Grenant Canyon:
the slides of Chartreuse
At the gateway to the Chartreuse Park, near Lake Aiguebelette. An easy, playful canyon carved into limestone: natural slides, small caves to explore and an 18 m waterfall. One of the first to open each season.
Slides, caves and a long season
The Grenant canyon sits at the gateway to the Chartreuse Regional Nature Park, very close to Lake Aiguebelette, between Attignat-Oncin and La Bridoire. It is an easy, playful canyon, perfect for families and groups of friends seeking fun without big verticality.
Its hallmark: the limestone rock has been sculpted into smooth natural slides, dotted with small caves you pass through along the way. The atmosphere is immersive and green, in an unspoilt natural setting.
Another asset: it has one of the longest seasons in the area â it opens in early April and stays runnable until late September. Ideal when other canyons are still too high in water.
Slide, swim, explore the caves
The Grenant is above all a series of natural slides carved into polished limestone â you glide from pool to pool through clear water, never with major technical difficulty.
Between slides, the canyon reveals small caves and submerged passages to explore, adding an adventure dimension much loved by children. The full version even offers a fine 18 metre waterfall and jumps up to 7 metres, always optional.
It is the fun canyon par excellence: sporty enough to enjoy, gentle enough to share as a family, and long enough to make the most of a half-day.
