A guide just for you

The private guide is our most flexible and personalised canyoning option. Instead of joining a group tour with other participants, you get a state-certified guide working exclusively with your group.

This option suits two profiles in particular: families or groups of friends who want a private experience in accessible canyons (especially Angon), and experienced canyoneers who want to discover off-catalog canyons like Pont du Diable, Eau Rousse, or Grenant — beautiful canyons that aren't part of our standard group tours.

The pace adapts to your group, the canyon is chosen with you according to your level and preferences, and the format can be a half-day or a full day. Our team (Étienne and Céline in particular) knows every canyon in Haute-Savoie and the Bauges range like the back of their hand.

Why choose private ?

Four reasons our customers choose this option over standard group tours.

Adapted pace

No waiting between passages. The guide only manages your group, so everything goes faster (or slower if you want to take your time).

🎯

Canyon of your choice

You choose the canyon with the guide based on your preferences, level and weather. Not just Angon or Montmin: every one of our canyons is accessible.

👥

Privacy

A family, a group of friends, a birthday: just you in the canyon with your guide. Perfect for special moments without strangers.

📅

Flexible schedule

Morning, afternoon or full day: we adjust to your schedule and constraints. Far more flexible than a fixed group tour.

Two profiles, one option

The private guide is particularly well-suited to these two types of requests.

  • Pont du Diable (Bauges range)
  • Eau Rousse Canyon (Tarentaise valley)

Your questions about the private guide

Answers to the questions we get most often about this option.

What's the difference with a regular group tour?
In a regular tour, you join a group with other unknown participants. With a private guide, the guide is exclusively for your group: you choose the canyon, the pace, the timing. No waiting between passages, more time for photos, and the atmosphere stays just within your group (family, friends…). It's also the only way to access off-catalog canyons like Pont du Diable.
How does the pricing actually work?
The price is flat-rate per guide, not per person. For the Angon half-day option at €350, you pay the same whether you're 2, 4 or 6 people. So the more people, the better the price per person: €175/pers for 2, €87.50/pers for 4, €58/pers for 6. Above 6 people, we mobilise a second guide, which is on quote.
Which canyons can I do privately?
All our canyons are accessible privately. Angon is the most popular (half-day option at €350, online bookable). Montmin is also available. For the more committing canyons (Pont du Diable, Eau Rousse, Grenant), it's only on private guide (not in our standard group tours), with a quote depending on the canyon and duration. If you have a specific canyon in mind in Haute-Savoie or Savoie, just ask us.
Do I need previous canyoning experience?
It depends on the canyon you choose. For Angon privately, no experience is required (from age 12). It's actually an excellent first canyoning experience in private format. For Pont du Diable, Eau Rousse or Grenant, you need previous canyoning experience and rope confidence — these are trips for advanced practitioners. If in doubt, contact us, we'll assess your level and choose the right canyon together.
What's the minimum age for children?
Minimum age for the private guide is 12 years old. For younger children (from age 8), we recommend our Discovery group tour which is specifically adapted to young kids with reinforced supervision.
How does booking work?
For the Angon half-day option, you can book directly online through our secure platform (instant confirmation). For other canyons or larger groups, contact us by email or phone: we'll send a quote within 24 hours on weekdays, based on the date, canyon and group size.
How far in advance should I book?
In peak season (July-August), we recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance, especially for weekends. In low season or weekdays, 3-4 days may be enough. For technical canyons (Pont du Diable, Eau Rousse, Grenant), allow more lead time as specialist guides aren't always immediately available.
Where's the meeting point?
The meeting point is at our Angon chalet, by the lake, just past Talloires. It's our base: gear-up on site, hot showers on return, and direct access to the Angon canyon. For trips at other canyons (Pont du Diable, Eau Rousse, Grenant), we carpool from the chalet to the canyon with the guide.
What if the weather is bad?
Light rain isn't a problem for canyoning (you're already in the water!). However, in case of storm or flood risk, the trip is cancelled by the guide for your safety. In that case: full refund or free reschedule, your choice. The decision is made by the guide based on real flow rates and forecasts.
