Eau Rousse Canyon:
the family canyon
In the Tarentaise, the initiation canyon par excellence. Jumps of 1 to 5 m, natural slides, a rope bridge and small abseils â everything is optional. The ideal outing to discover canyoning as a family.
Everything to get started, nothing compulsory
The Eau Rousse canyon nestles in the LauziÚre massif, in the Tarentaise valley between Albertville and Moûtiers. It is the valley's initiation canyon: easy, varied and fully adjustable, it lets the whole family taste canyoning with complete peace of mind.
Its great strength is that nothing is forced. Jumps of 1 to 5 metres, natural slides, small waterfall abseils and even a rope bridge around twenty metres long: every obstacle can be taken or bypassed. Children jump the small one-metre drops while the sportier tackle the committing passages.
A short 20-minute approach walk, clear playful water and a green mountain setting: it is the perfect first-time outing, from age 8, supervised by a state-certified guide.
The canyon Ă la carte, for every level
What makes the Eau Rousse unique is its variety over a short, gentle course. In an hour and a quarter in the water you string together jumps suited to everyone, slides carved into the rock, swims through clear pools and small beginner abseils.
The rope bridge (a cable crossing around twenty metres long) adds a playful, aerial touch rarely found in a canyon â a great moment for children and parents alike.
Because everything is optional, it is also an excellent canyon for mixed-ability groups: no one feels left behind, no one gets bored.
